My '02 top was so noisy, it was embarrassing to have a passenger, while my wife's '03 is fairly quiet. I decided try something. I unlocked it at all 4 points, and as you all know, when you push the levers, the gasket rises about 3/4" off the car. I dusted (lightly) the area where the gasket sits with baby powder all the way around. Then replaced the top down onto the powder. Now, not a sound folks. Don't know if it will work for all with the problem, but it sure did for me. Took about 10 minutes.

David, that's a great idea.
Also next time you remove the top, treat the gasket with a rubber lubricant and it will keep it plyable. Just be sure to wipe it down before you re-install the hard top on the car. This is a good thing to do on all rubber seals if you plan on keeping the car.
