fuel pressure bleeding off

My 02 bird is getting where it is difficult to start sometimes. It has 61K miles. I just had one of the COP's replaced and the mechanic is not sure what part of the fuel system is loosing the fuel pressure. Has anyone come across this problem?

Not sure if the LS has the same fuel pump, but it is a problem there:

Finally, have them test the fuel pump control module as well.
