I read where a fellow was having a problem with his ABS and TRACTION lights coming on for the past couple of years. He said;
"If I stopped and restarted the car, it would clear the problem. This had only happened about 4 or 5 times in the past two years so I figured it was one of those things that the dealer would never be able to duplicate.
So, I was just waiting to see if the light/s would come on eventually and stay on, but they never have.
Well, I took my Bird in for service last week and asked them to check and see if by chance a code had been set by the computer to tell them what the problem was. My extended warranty ends in just 3000 miles!! Well, to my joy, a code WAS set and it said that my right front wheel speed sensor had malfunctioned twice. They replaced it under warranty and also found a TSB that said that some speed sensors with a certain color tape on them were also to be replaced. Well, that's what mine were, so both front wheel sensors were replaced. My bird is an '03, manufactured in May of '03.:
I am attempting to find out the TSB number, but if anyone is interested or thinks they have an issue, next time in for service, do what he did.
