Any recommendations for replacement rotors. Are the drilled and slotted worth the extra money? My 2002 front rotors are warped and cracked.😕

I haven't heard of any other owners replacing them with anything other than Ford recommended parts. But I would guess that there are after market ones available that may last longer.
I have heard complaints that they wear fast. Do you have many miles on them?

Brake rotors

Hi George,

Have about 90,000 kilometers, highway and stop and go traffic lineups.
I bought Motorcraft replacements from Ford as they said that's what they use. Big improvement, no vibration or pulsing when applying the brakes. Cost $90.00 CDN each and changed them both in under and hour. Need a 15MM socket and a 12MM box end wrench to do the job.

Regards,
Geoff

I gotta put in my 5 cents worth. (inflation). I took the wife's car to have the oil, etc changed and the tires rotated. The technition said we needed front brakes and new rotors. Back was alright. Going in nest Tuesday for the work.
2 questions. 1. Is it usual for the front to go and not the rear? 2. Nearly 50 K miles, so I didn't think it unusual for replacing brakes. Is this a good assumption? Most of the driving is in town, less than 25 miles from home.
Jim

1. Yes, most of yopur braking power comes from the front.

2. 50k is reasonable with local driving. Just be sure to have them check the rears in about 15k miles😎

Thanks. The service dept. I go to with the car is the local Ford dealer. They have been nothing but courteous and professional. One time I took it in for oil change, etc and was told that it wasn't needed at this time. Holy Cow!!!!!
When has this ever happened.
Anyway, they are always helpful.
Jim

we got 68K on ours and it is just now is beginning to squeak when we apply the brakes. Rotors are not warped but they are worn excessively.

Next on the list of "To do's"
