2005 tire replacement recommendations

When I had the 235/55R17 Goodyears installed at America's Tire, they inflated them to 35psi, not 30 that is on the sticker. Is there a reason why a 55, which is one size taller than OEM 50, should have a higher pressure? Since a lot of retrobird owners put the taller 55s on, I am hoping someone who ran them at 30psi for many thousands of miles noticed uneven tire wear or not.

We've had good luck with Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric M&S All Season 235/50ZR17 tires. 8 yrs and 32K. About ready for a new set, but they don't make them in 17" anymore
