From Ford communications:
Ford’s 9 point improvement on J.D. Power’s IQS is significant given the high number of new vehicle launches this year. Our product onslaught means that we’re turning over about 50 percent of our North American production. Traditionally, new launches have meant a decline in vehicle quality. But not any more. Our new Ford F-150 was second in its segment, surpassing the quality of the prior year model! And the F-150 Heritage models, which were ranked best-in-class last year, were third in segment, just one point behind the all-new truck.

Several of our vehicles were tops in their segments for initial quality. We had two first-place segment winners -- the Mercury Grand Marquis for Full-Size Cars and Ford Explorer Sport Trac for Compact Pickups. And eight other vehicles placed among the top three in their segments: Ford F-150, Ford Thunderbird, Ford Ranger, Ford F-150 Heritage, Ford Mustang, Ford Crown Victoria, Lincoln Town Car and Mercury Mountaineer.

The Ford Wixom (Mich.) Assembly Plant was recognized with J.D. Power’s “Bronze Award” for manufacturing quality

Cars have improved so much those awards are probably who
stuffed the pocket best. I can't remember the last "bad" car
(GM, Ford/Lincoln, Jeep, BMW) have had.
