I just bought a used '02 (white, full color interior - W O W!!!!). Anyway.... I can't seem to get the cruise control to work. Push rocker switch to on, depress the + button and get a round light to flash on the dash, but no cruise control (lite does not stay on either)..... ?????

Ray, you are trying this at 40mph or above? Are you still under warranty?

HI there...... Well, to tell you the truth, I didn't know you had to be above 40mph, BUTTTTT I have tried it at 50, 60, 70 and it still doesn't work...... I bought the car with 16K miles on it from a dealer and have the warranty up thru 36,000 - will be taking it in in another 1,000 miles for 20K checkup... (Am I right, the round indicator on the dash should be ON when cruise control is active??) tks again, ray

Ray: Yes its round and just right of center bottom of dial

Cruise

Had a similar problem with a Taurus cruise control and it turned out to be the speed sensor module which talks to the computer. It was replaced by the dealer and all was well.

It should be under warranty. My guess is trying to get the part without the dealer having to order it. Seems like T-Bird parts are not stocked like many other Ford items.
