2 quick questions as I begin to put my dash back together.

This screw is on the side of my gauge cluster, but I cannot remember what goes to it. I was thinking grounding strap, but I do not see a loose one. Is there a ground for the gauges, or is that handled with mounting it to the dash and then the car itself?

Secondly I found this behind my dash, below where the gauges go. This is a 66 dash going into my 65, so it may not have even been used. I don't see any unexplained terminals in that area.

And does anyone know where these grounds go to? They are hanging out on the passenger side.

THanks

Thanks in advance!

Pic 1: No groundstrap for either speedo pod or instrument pod. That screw doesn't even belong there; someone has added it for unknown reason. Pic 2: that's an old CVR that was mounted to the dashboard structure for ease of access. The original mounting location is really bad for access once the car is put together so a lot of guys find a spot they can reach. Pic 3: I can't tell what they are. Under the dash, though, if there are black wires with ring terminals, they are always grounds for something. Find a screw nearby and screw em down.

Picture 1. If it is mounted to plastic it is not a ground. If f mounted to metal it could be a ground. It could also be a mount for a wiring clip.
In reference to your second picture. I cannot say definitively from the photograph. I cannot say this for 1966 cars. However in 1965 and earlier there is a 5 volt regulator that affect the gas gauge and the temperature gauge. If it fails the temp gauge goes to full heat and the gas gauge goes to empty. Again refer to your wiring diagram.
In picture 3. If you are sure it is a ground then ground it to the metal body or other connected sheetmetal.
good luck J.
