Hi everybody. I want to replace the shifter detent, bearing, and sleeve and I'm stuck at the stage where I have to take off the upper bearing. I don't want to force the parts. Is it suppose to be easy to replace and do I need special tools. Thanks

Been a while since I’ve done one but all that I’ve ever done have slid right out. The sleeve around the upper bushing on all I’ve replaced had crumbled over time. The replacement sleeves have all been rubber and pressed right back in. Are you saying you have removed the t/s switch and snap ring and it won’t come out?? By the way I’ve never had a bad upper bearing just the collar.

Not sure if it’s against rules for the site if so mods can delete this, but if you google tbird ranch John has some good tech tips on what your doing.
