The rear of my 57 has started to sag and I have decided it it time for a rear spring replacement and was wondering if anybody had any suggestions w/r to the spring supplier. When I restored the car, 40 years ago, I had the original springs re arched. This time around, I am thinking that new springs might be the better way to go. The major parts houses all sell springs, and the installation kits: Hill's, SDTruckSprings, Eaton, Walmart (amazingly enough), and others with a significant difference in pricing. Anybody have any good or bad experiences that they would like to share w/r to a supplier for replacement springs?

I would probably stay away from the inexpensive ones. You usually get what you pay for. I would buy them from a supplier that guarantee they are American made. The shop I deal with I have bought springs from since 1970 for my cars and heavy trucks. His springs are made in Pittsburgh Pa.

Another option is to have the old springs rearched. This way you control the height for each side. Mine sags 1/2” more on the left side. Also make sure your shackles are not reversed (hanging down).
