2005 Thunderbird Performance Problem

I have a 2005 Thunderbird. I love the car, but there is a performance issue with it. There is huge delay when I hit the throttle from a standing start before the car starts to power up. Does anyone else have this problem?

Sounds like a throttle body. Other models from ford use an electronic throttle body, and they have hesitation issues. Did you check for any codes in the pcm? I have a 2002 thunderbird still used mechanical throttle body that year.
