Hello everyone,

I am wondedring how many out of 1500 manufactered 2005 50th anniversary T-Bird are still in working order,

Is there a data base for such informations?
Is there a data base for wrecked vehicules in USA? it should help estimations of the survivors.

I imported mine from Florida in 2021, the car number in the glove compartiment is 0973.
I have now 37K miles on the counter.
I had to change the EGR valve and the Throttle Body. All the rest is fine
The car is in France an registered with French ID plate, we stay in te Paris area close to the Versailles Chateau.

It appears there were around 60K total of the 2002-2005 Thunderbirds built. In 2005, I believe the number was around 9300 total. Of those around 1500 were in Cashmere color.
Happy Motoring!,
-------------------------------------------------
A total of 9,295 Ford Thunderbirds were produced in the 2005 model year, which marked the 50th Anniversary of the vehicle and the final year of production for the eleventh generation. The 2005 models were available in several colors, with production numbers varying by hue:

  • Cashmere Metallic: 1,500 units were built as the special 50th Anniversary "Feature Car" edition, featuring a unique interior with cashmere seats and a color-matched grille.
  • Inca Gold: 82 units were produced, making it one of the rarest colors for the model year.
  • Bronze: 1,396 units were built.
  • Medium Steel Blue: 1,463 units were produced.
  • Evening Black: 1,713 units were built.
  • Torch Red: 1,846 units were produced.
  • Platinum Silver: 1,295 units were built.

Nice to see a european presence for these cars !! Yours looks tres magnifique !!! I would love to drive mine from Paris to Cannes. That would be a trip!!

I have abt 65k on our flame red 2005 Bird. Had intake leaks from over heating early on but once fixed doing great in Fort Worth Texas. Just had OEM Auto Sound in Kissimmee FL do a great job fixing the CD changer for $180 & sounds great!! Haven't looked in glove box for a prod #.

Hi,
I have a 2005 Cashmere 50th anniversary, number 0136. I purchased it from Oklahoma City, OK (from the original owner) and had it shipped to Sacramento CA. I purchased it to complement my 1955 bird which has a similar color (pearl white). My O5 has approx 35K. The only issue I had was the air compressor went bad immediately following my 30K service. It was missing the convertible boot cover so I purchased one from ebay but it is black which I believe is not the color correct one for this model. Love my birds!

I wonder how many 05's are in France? Probably not many based on the production numbers provided by T-BirdTom. I am sure yours is a real head turner!

I am also wondering, it is hard to find as there is no T-Bird club in the country, over the last 10 years I have seens 5 T-Bird 2002-2005 for sell , most can be sourced as ex US military personnel stationned in Germany and feeding European market. I have been to the Paris US car show or the last 3 years and my 2005 was always the only one at the meeting, I have only seen a 1962 and a "Telma and Louise".

So my belief is that you can count the number of 2002-2005 models in France on the fingers of one hand.
Best Regards

My Cashmere is 0151/15001765820292008.jpeg

Number 1013. Bought in 2010 with 1953 miles from Ford employee out on Michigan. Sold in 2014 with 10660 miles to a gentleman in Florida for his wife’s 50th anniversary gift. He sold it in 2021 with 13937 miles to a gentleman in Melbourne Fl. Buyer number four decided to trade it in at Classic Car dealer in Stuart Fl. For a Jaguar so the dealer listed it and I had buyers remorse after 10 years and bought it back from the dealer on 3/14/24 with 14760 miles. It currently has 15633 miles. Been a florida car since I purchased in 2010. Serviced at Ford dealerships since new. Only problem was a front shock had to be replaced at 13285 miles. Have never had coil any mechanical issue since new.

Nice to have a choice between 2 lovely cars when you indulge in a pleasure drive. The "Bullet" T-Bird o the 60's has been one of my dream but I went for a 2005 as I could only afford 1 pleasure car in the garage and the European roads (and my garage size) are hill suited to barge size vehicules.
Please share the model number ingraved on tag inside the glove box cover of your cashmere Bird
Many thanks and keep motoring.

Hey, thank you. We live in a high rise with 3 levels of garage below. Fortunately there are some older folks that no longer drive so there are extra spaces for our cars. Of the 1,500 2005 limited cashmere edition cars made, mine is #1368 so close to the end of the run. I have only recently purchased it and it had only 4,967 miles on it at the time. While the original carpet mats were in nearly new condition, I had custom mats made in order to preserve the carpet set. This photo does not do the mats justice but they coordinate perfectly with the 3 tone interior of the car. I too always loved the Bullet Bird and particularly the Sports Roadster edition. It is a head turner wherever we go.
