Back in the day our cars had a “vent” for fresh air - does our cars (NewBirds) have such a thing?

Vent windows were so popular but gave way to air-conditioning. And there used to be pull handles as well to permit direct access to outside air. But all these things have gone away due to AC. You can get fresh air into your car by shutting off the AC, lowering the temperature as low as it can go, and adjusting the blower motor. But its not the same!

Your subject "back in the day" has been updated to summarize what your post is about.

Vent windows (cozy wings) were on most cars back in the day. The dis-advantage was the wind-noise they produced closed after only a few years of use. They whistled especially at freeway speeds and I think we are much better off without them riding in silence.

I don't think the OP is talking about a physical vent window. I think they are referring to the air pulling fresh air vs. recirculated air.

As a follow on to RJDIMONDA's reply. Use can use the 4 buttons to Direct the Cabin airflow to the desired position (Floor, Dash, window etc.)..Also, make sure you have a clean Cabin Air Filter. There is another thread instructing you how to R/R the Cabin Air Filter.
