After replacing the Throttle body twice, whenever I start the car it immediately goes into "Limp Home" mode (i.e., it runs very rough and top speed is 10-15 mplh). However, if I plug in a scanner and clear code it starts and runs beautifully for the rest of the day. However, in the morning, when you start the car, it goes into "Limp Home" mode again. I have attached the scanner sequence I need to follow to get to a smooth running engine. Have any of you ever experienced this, and more importantly, what was the solution? Thanks.

I had the same problem with my 2003, It started this way and then it got worse. Replaced every thing, even the foot pedel, Found a shop that had worked on these T-Birds.

The end result was corroded Wire for the Foot Pedal in the ECM, Ended up having to buy a NEW ECM, They couldn't rebuild mine. (So maybe they can still rebuild yours)
Look up thunderbirdbob on face book. (he can rebuild these modules).

Mine had set in the weather for 12 years and It started out where it will go into limp mode and just turn it off and try again and it worked, then it got to your point of having to clear the code before it would run good all day. Then it started doing it every time I started it. So It will get worse.

Good luck, but it's worth fixing, I can drive mine every day now.

Thank you for your help. I have taken it to a Ford super store and they have told me the same thing this morning. Hopefully it will solve the problem. I am grateful you shared your experience which helps validate what the Ford Service Writer (who has been in the business 40 years and only at Ford stores) told me a few minutes ago. I appreciate your taking the time to help...very grateful! May you be blessed!!!
