2003 Heat/Air either all hot or all cold

Any suggestions on a solution for the air conditioner/heating that runs either at 60 degrees or 90 degrees, no matter where it's set in between. Air conditioning specialists haven't been able to fix it & said it was a problem with the "master switch?" We sent the whole master switch unit off to a place in California to be re-programed, but that still did not work. Any suggestions? Thanks!

I’ve a similar issue in that mine just blows hot air in any mode. I was told that it is the cold air door/ actuator not working. This also showed on my code scanner. Does anyone know where this is located and how to access it?

I've got the same issue with my a/c. As Biddle posted, there are ton's of posts on this forum and others about how to repair. I've been researching for a few months and created a roadmap of repairs for myself of what to inspect and repair starting with the easiest and/or most inexpensive solutions working my way towards the more difficult and expense repairs.

My cars heat issues are if I turn the heat up to 90 it will come on and turn off the a/c , to get a,c back on I need to turn the temp down below 60. That doesn't sound lit the DCCV!. I haven't found this type of issue on the forum, if I leave a tempture set it does no stay at set tempture any suggestions

I would start by checking for stored fault codes in all of the control modules. There are quite a few control modules, and they can all be accessed by connecting a scan tool, not a code reader, to the OBD connector under the dash.

@biddle recommends using the Blue Driver scan tool/code reader. If you are just starting out, this is a very good scan tool for home use.

There is a built in diagnostic test you can try; I believe this is how you do it but its been a while:

When my 2002 bird A/C froze me out the dealer wanted $1,500 to repair (a dashboard disassembly required - they said) it turned out it was a $35 Air Evaporator Temperature Discharge sensor...plugs in right at the left side of the center console, up high - a 2 minute fix:

I don't generally like shooting the 'parts cannon' at a problem but for $35, maybe just roll the dice!
