My problem is when the door is opened with the window up,the window catches on the piece of molding on the soft top. This piece is becoming torn. Can it be replaced or do I just cut out carefully with a razor blade?

The window is calibrated. It is the 18 year old piece of rubber molding that catches.
I really don't think anyone will be able to make a good advisement without some good photos of the issue.

If you cut that out you will have a guaranteed leak...I would spray the snot out of it with some silicone spray so the window slides over it (maybe).
