2002 soft top positioning when putting hard top on

2002 does soft top stay up or down when putting hairs top on? Hubby took care of and he passed so I’m just wandering.

Be sure to follow the lever and bolt tightening sequence laid out in the owners manual precisely. Doing that is needed to get a good fit.
