Our 2002 sat for a long time, and gas went bad, along with fuel pump, and ac compressor
leaked, it was already leaking, just got worse.

As posted earlier new fuel pump, new compressor, and new battery. Car now runs great
and ac is ice cold.

Am the original owner, but the most amazing fact is everything on the car works perfectly.
I mean everything, the tires are original, and no cracks at all. You can take a led flashlight
to find any cracks on tires, they show up easily. Our spare is original also, but is showing
some small cracks near tread on sidewall. Even the radio, and all 6 slots on the cd player
work.

Car has always been garaged, temperature controlled, maybe this has help preserve the car.
Gave car a good 65 mile drive today, no issues at all. Car looks like it is only a few years old,
and yes we are keeping the car for many years to come.

Glad you got your Bird up and running again. Mine had sat for a few years too before I bought it about 6 months ago. Be careful with those tires, most manf recommend changing them out every 6 to 10 years. Although no cracks, tire compound can become very hard, messing up ride quality and handling.

I agree with ronwc ... there are plenty of things that can go wrong with a 16 year old tire that would never be revealed through a visual inspection. I’d step up and replace them.

Very happy to hear that your ‘Bird is back on the road and running well. Drive that baby and enjoy her the way it was intended!
