Since I bought my 2002 thunderbird a little over a year ago it’s always jumped up to 2000 rpm from a cold start and then settled down to around 1000 before I shift into gear. Last week, I ran over a screw and had to get my tire repaired. Ever since I picked her up from the repair, when I start the car it shows no change in rpm for a few seconds even though I can hear the engine revving, and then it jumps to 1500 before settling down to around 1000. I’ve driven her maybe three times since the repair and it’s happened each time, she’s driving fine though.
I’m a bit paranoid because I love my car so much. Is this indicative of a problem? Has anyone noticed this happening in their car?
