1965 Thunderbird What line is this?

Hello everyone, I was hoping somebody could help me figure out what is going on here. While removing the carburetor in my '65 I noticed that this line was never connected to anything. I'm really not certain what this is and was hoping that somebody here could tell me.

If the other end of this line goes to the exhaust manifold, then I think this end would go to the automatic choke.
 
That is the heat riser tube, it gets connected to the automatic choke. When the engine warms up it makes the choke open. you should reconnect it otherwise the engine will always be running rich and foul out your plugs.........
