Please help!?!?!
I have a 63 bird in restoring. I've run into an electrical malfunction. Ad most know the 63 has the slide away steering wheel. Was having problems starting so I by passed it and installed a push button. It works sometimes but not all the time. Now I have no power and when I jump the solenoid to start the car the starter keeps going. Just trying to make this a running project. I know it's a long shot but any ideas??

Highly likely a sticking solenoid, when starting the starter is engaged by an electro-magnetic force "sucking" the teeth into flywheel engagement and when that force is removed (via switch) a strong spring should retract the starter drive.
