1963 convertible tonneau cover fasteners. My convertible currently has the wrong fasteners holding the back of my tonneau cover on. I have the correct thumbscrew fasteners. But, I can't figure out what holds the tubular type "nuts" in place for the thumbscrews to thread into??? The service manual does not address this issue. Can someone help me--please?!

Had the same issue with my 62. My local panel shop had a tool that locked the round nuts you refer to, into the steel panel behind the rear seats.
My friend has used a loctite product which has worked well.
Good luck

Thanks for both ideas. I know someone that runs a body shop, I'll check with them and if I can't find that tool, I'll use an appropriate glue.
