On my 62 the driver side inside door handle doesn’t spring back to its original position like the passenger side does. Is there a spring or something that I am missing?

Yes, there's a spring in there. I don't remember exactly where it is but should be easy to figure out once the door panel is off.

The return spring is on the actual latch on the door jamb. If it’s broken you’ll have to replace the latch assembly. But it could just be 62 years of sticky grease. Either way you’ll have to take the door panel off.

Okay thanks a bunch that would have been hard to find. I will try lubing it first. I have found that a lot of things on this car are easily fixed with lube.

That link is to a really great publication. Pretty much shows exploded views of everything on the 1962. I have a hard copy and use it quite often.
