Just received a new fuel line for my 1960. Fuel line has two springs around the line. What is the purpose for these springs. They slide along the line so they can be placed anywhere along the line. Anyone know where they should be placed.

The springs act as a “guard” to protect the line from rocks and/or road debris. They should be positioned in or near the wheel-well, or any where the line is “exposed” to flying debris.
