To open the passenger door from outside I have to fully push in the button on the door handle to free up the star wheel to allow the door to be opened. Is there a way to adjust that mechanism to free up that star wheel a little before the button is fully pushed in? The driver side button works perfectly.

There is an adjustment on the button assy. However I believe you have to remove the door panel to access the part. Remove the access panel use a light to see the threaded rod coming out of the button.
