1957 parking brake ratchet/spring reassembly

I’m stuck trying to reassemble the parking brake. I’ve worked out out how the pawl/ratchet bar fits into the tube, but I cannot figure out how the spring fits. Does anyone have a photo of this assembly..or can anyone describe how the spring should fit.

I just happen to have mine out of my 56. 1st pic shows the left-hand side, that the side the spring go in.
The 2nd is taken from the firewall end. You can see the coiled end of spring, Hope this helps.

Steve, what luck you would have this part available for a photo. Very helpful. Can you help me orient the spring right side up? If I'm reading your photo correctly, the spring goes on the driver side. And my spring has a short end and a long end. I'm thinking the long end goes up. Is this right?

Arghh..I guessed at long end up due to the geometry. I think I’ll leave it as is and worry about if the spring breaks!
