1957 heater plenum reattachment

I'm installing a reproduction heater plenum from Hills. There is one hole on the plenum about midway on the right edge (see photo) that matches up with a hole on the heater box. The heater box has two other holes on the left side, one at the bottom corner and one a few inches higher (see photo). Seems like something must have been attached, but my manuals don't help me. What goes here?

I'm not sure what your question is, but I installed the reproduction heater plenum from Hills.

Here are pictures of the cable in the heat position and the defrost position.

I figured out (I think) the holes in question are to hold the vacuum valve.
