I didn't take pictures of where the oil dipstick tube strap fastened before I tore the engine down. Now that it's resembled and I'm getting ready to install it I can't remember where the dipstick was positioned. It appears the tube may want to fasten with the center manifold bolt. But that doesn't seem correct. Anyone have pictures or directions for this seemingly simple task.

Tater, yes it bolts where it is into the center hole between the manifold to head bolts. I don’t have my engine here as it is back at the engine shop so I can’t tell you the actual bolt/washer ?/ or whatever hardware you need but I’m sure someone will let you know. Looks to me like the metal connector strap on your tube is either bent or came loose?? I haven’t re installed mine yet either and my dipstick tube needs replacement as the top was broken off when I got it. I’ve got to find one. It’s on my list.
I’ll be interested to see the outcome . Good luck

Thanks Dale, and JDJ. Center manifold bolt it'll be.
JDJ, the strap could possibly be bent, I am debating on a new one as well. Hill's has them for roughly 25 bucks.

Tater, See if these photos help. Note how the tube is close to the steady rest to block mount. Your tube seems to be tilted back a lot more.

Thanks JDJ
Those are great and exactly what I was needing. My tube is rotated away from manifold in the pic because I wasn't sure of the correct position.
