I'm trying to straighten out the keys for my '55.

It came with 4 separate keys:
One for the doors
One for the ignition
One for the glove box
One for the trunk (squarehead)

Should the trunk and glovebox match? (roundheads),
And shouldn't the doors and ignition match? (squareheads)

I was thinking I would get a new trunk lock and re-key it to match the glove,
then, re-key the ignition to match the doors.

Is this the way to go?

I just CAN'T have 4 different keys for this car

Pete986,

You are correct in everything you stated. If you have a good locksmith in your area, they can probably remove the trunk and ignition cylinder out of the lock without removing the entire lock. Call around and find one that knows classic Ford locks.

Good luck,
Steve
