I represent an elderly couple who have reached the age at which they no longer drive. Since the early 1970s, they have owned a 1966 Thunderbird Town Landau with the original 390. The car was a gift from the original owner. It has been garaged and rarely used in the last 15 years. It has 93,000 miles on the odometer which we believe is original. The car is in good driving condition and is located in western CT.
The body and interior are in very good original condition. The body lines are smooth and clean. Based on hints of overspray on the gas cap, we suspect it has had one (at least partial) repaint which still looks very good. The magnet test indicates no evidence of bondo anywhere, but there is some paint bubbling behind the rear wheel on the drivers’ side. The interior has no visible flaws other than some minor chrome pitting. The undercarriage seems to have been undercoated years ago and still looks good. The only visible rust is of the surface variety underneath.
What do you think it is worth? I want to help the owners get a fair price and for the car to find a new home. I am not a Thunderbird owner but I do have a 1967 Mustang convertible and respect the Ford community! Thank you in advance for your thoughts!
