My 2004 Black Beauty has been giving me fits for a few years now. About three years ago I noticed that the shift response seemed to be a bit delay to the point where the RPM's would increase dramatically (500+) between gears (more prominent between 1st & 2nd) and if I was "babying" the gas pedal. Having the A/C on also seemed to aggravate the situation to the point where the auto downshift would delay when approaching a slight grade increase thereby "bogging" the engine. I took it to the Ford dealership after I explained to "Lucy" what what happening. I also mentioned that it may be a speed sensor although no codes were initiated. "Lucy" determined it was the transmission so they replaced it at approx 40k miles. I also mentioned that when revving engine there was a noticable delay in the engine returning back to idle mode. Both of these are still issues with my "Black Beauty" and because they failed to correct the problems I have hesitated in taking it back to the same dealership. Was wondering if anyone else out there has or is experiencing same issues?
