ok so I decided to replace my steering column because we had so many problems with the original one .. well now I can't get it to go into park .. any ideas on what I might have done or not done ?? It use to go into park but would fall out of park with the original column .. I found out that it was missing a lot of parts so I bought a parts car cheap and took the column to put in my car .. now it starts and drives but starts in reverse and will not go into park ...

Someone please help me figure this out ...

thanks in advance

Sounds like you linkage is really off. You'll have to go under the car to fix it. Loosen the nut and find the park position with you selector on the column set to park. Then tighten. It may take a few adjustments to get it exactly right.
