The top of the "T" on the "Thunderbird" logo on the driver side rear fender of my o4 Black Bird came off. Not sure how it happened, if it was vandalism or a defective part that just fell off. There is a little bit of black, rubbery adhesive remaining where the top of the "T" was. My question is -- how do I remove that adhesive and the remaining Thunderbird logo without damaging the paint? Where can I obtain a replacement logo? Would this be covered under the new car warranty?

The logo is stuck on with adhesive. If it were mine wanted to do it myself Id get it warm from the sun or hair dryer and work some dental floss back and forth under the full length to remove it. It seems like the replacement is about $14

Sometimes this logo get snagged with polishing cloths or just dusting the car off - It's happened to other members.
If floss doesn't work, (breaks) try a fine fishing line.

Thankx!

Thankx for your inputs. I parked the car in the sun and after it warmed up, used some fishing line to slide off the logo. Then I used some windex and elbow grease to remove the remaining adhesive. I was surprised that the logo was plastic--thought it was stainless steel! Next I'll check with a Ford dealer to order a new logo. Again, thankx for your quick recommendations!

I think I may have left some adhesive on to facilitate positioning of the new one... Making a template from the other side should be good enough to position it forward/aft and establish the base line for the word...
