I've had my T-Bird for six weeks and 1,800 miles and the ownership experience has been wonderful. I can see why it won the J.D. Power award. It has no squeaks, rattles, smells, tracks straight and everything works to specifications. My dealer, Joe Madden Ford, in Downers Grove, IL also has provided top notch service. They gave me the trunk mat with the logo, the 2002 T-Bird hardcover book and the first service will be on them. I hope I can reinterate this a year from now. The only complaint I have is what others have mentioned, the fine scratches left on the body when the hardtop was removed. I agree that the chrome molding should be added at no cost to all our cars but my guess is Ford will not absorb the costs since they will assume we will pay to have it installed.
