I am replacing the switches and updates to electrical and noticed that the springs the are part of the Interior door Assembly are taped to the backside of the fiberboard panels vs being inserted on the same side that the nylon spacer and handle? Is this correct? Seems awkward and not correct?
thanks help.

the springs which are conically wound have the small end facing the inner door. The wider end is facing the inside of the door card. Once the door card is installed the plastic window crank slide is installed and finally the door handle is "popped" on.
good luck J.
