There was some discussion before I bought my TBird that there was a soft boot available that was easier to store and use that the one that came with the car. Are they still available and who do I contact to get one?

I understand that the 02 boot is discontinued and replacement will be the 03 and up version which is more portable and easier to install. I gather some 02s weren't optioned & delivered with the boot and if you order one now you'll get the 03 version.

soft boot for covering stowed soft top

The 2004 models do not include as part of the MSRP the soft boot for covering the stowed soft top. Rather it is a $150 option. I would speculate that current "bootless" owners could use the part number for that 2004 option to order one through dealer parts for the same price of $150 .... not the significantly higher price quoted earlier in this thread. I have a 2003, for which the boot is included in the MSRP, and while I had to tug rather firmly to install it ... it looks good and does not flap or separate from the vehicle at high speeds.
