UPDATE EMAIL ADDRESS
On the side of the seats, near the top of the side impact airbags, the leather seat cover is showing some wear, presumably from the airbag module pushing through. I've noticed in photos that many T-birds have some sort of oval "patch" in this area. Can anyone give me some information on this "patch"?

I can't but certainly a dealer could shed some light on that for you. My '02 has that oval but no wear mark.
BTW, my preference would be Lincoln dealer since all but the body is mostly Lincoln LS
