replace steering wheel cover.

Trying to replace the leather cover on my steering wheel. The upholstery shop said they do not do that and thought would need to replace the entire steering wheel. Any thoughts or suggestions.

I was told to pull steering column. I just went to Pep Boys and put a cover over it for $16, not what I wanted but at least it's not falling apart like it was.
