power steering pump 65 bird

thanks for reading, im new to this forum. my 65 Tbird has a leaking power steering pump, looks to be from the front housing seal. I've read that you can rebuild and that you shouldnt rebuild....any advise??
I'm low budget and DIY...

i appreciate any advise from past experience, i'm like a sponge for knowledge i will take all i can get..
yes i do have 2 shop manuals for the car, thus the conflicting info...

Well JT they certainly can be rebuilt, you need to buy a power steering seal kit for this car. There are numerous suppliers online like Mac's, Jerry's Thunderbird Parts etc. I did my 64 about 10 years ago.

Just do a search on the internet for 64 - 66 Thunderbird Parts and order from your closest supplier. Not a big job.
