Just some more information on tbird problems.
My wife noticed a strange hunmming sound coming from the engine and then noticed the temp in the red zone. We took it to our friendly Lincoln dealer. It got fixed and here's the solution. Diagnosis and replaced the thermostat and housing.
The humming noise came fromn the secondery heater (At least that what my wife remembers. But probably some secondary pump.) trying to compensate for the thermostat being bad. The following is a list of the replacements. Under warranty so only $100.00 for repairs and car rental.
1 3W4Z-8548-AD TUBE
1 RT-1163 THERMOS
1 2W9Z-8590-AB SEAL
1 RH-134 CONNECT
2 RG-619 GASKET
2 VC-7-B ANTI-FR
1 3W4Z-8260-BB HOSE AS (ASSEMBLY?)
Don't know retail on parts but 2.6 hrs. labor. They had it for a couple of days, waiting on part.
Just so you, George, cna keep your "records" up to date. 😉
