New tires for 2002 Thunderbird

Just put new Firestone, Firehawk, Indy 500 tires on the wife's Thunderbird. Went with summer only tire and one size larger, 235/55/17 Just drove from Florida to Michigan. Ride is quieter and very smooth. Tire fills wheel well, makes car look better in my opinion.

That is what I will do.

The car was originally designed for the 235/55/17 size tires but Ford decided to save a little money and go one size smaller when they hit the assembly line. Many of us switched over to the larger tires and the car does run smoother with the larger tires.
