Thunderbird Year
1964
Hello everyone I'd like some advise or comparisons.
Next years I'm thinking of giving my 64 bird a paint Job. She's got a few nicks here and there and very few rust bubbles being 57 years old. And by getting a new spray job it will protect the shell from rusting for many years with thicker paint.
I was thinking should I redo the Wimbledon White again or should I go for a silver birch kind of like the aston martin db5 silver. The cost of a bare metal respray here in the UK my local vintage specalist will cost me £5000.
Have anyone seen a silver tbird. Will it take away the original look or depreciate the car.

These cars arn't worth any great fortune. Paint it the color that makes you happy. Somebody else, down the road can repaint it if they want.

Yeah that's true I'd class mine as a good condition which sells for around $8k to 13k
Excellent sells for around 20 to 23k so it wouldn't be any more than that in value.

Doing a color change will always hurt the value. I would stick with the factory color -Wimbledon White. The white is also far easier to touch up or match should you need to do so in the future.
