Motor Trend 12583 sold by July 1/02

Motor trend reported that 12583 or something close had been sold by July /02. I guess the other 8000 or so built must be sitting on dealers lots, that is why we are seeing so many.
I guess the fever has subsided. Too bad that Ford didn't see the warning signs and stuck to the 25000, at this rate there will be bargains available when the 03's are introduced.

My understanding is there were some problems with the model year switchover so they continued to produce 2002 models. I think Ford still indends to produce 50,000 total units between the 2002 and 2003 model years, there will just be more 2002's than 2003's.
