Has anyone had a problem with their 2002 Thunderbird in regard to their lower control arm? The T-bird was acting really weird this morning - when I went over a bump or over a rough piece of road, it acted like there was no control in the steering. It was really scary. I pulled over at a gas station and looked to see if there was something wrong with the tires. There wasn't - so I went about 60 mph the rest of the way. Every time I went over a bump, I thought I was going to lose control.

I took the car into my mechanic who looked at and said the lower control arm is shot and has to be replaced and that I should not be driving it. This blond is not crazy! - I know how the car drives and feels. This shouldn't happen at 47,000 miles although Ford has had some problems with their trucks doing this.

Has anyone else had this problem?

LCP, first I've heard about it in the past 2-3 years.
