Invoice - what does it mean?

I got a call from my dealer today (one of the good ones by the way) and he told me that he has received the invoice for my car, which means that I'll be receiving it in a week or two. The 800 line gives me an ETA of the week of 4 Feb...which is right in line with the one to two week estimate.

What I would like to know is what exactly does it mean that he has my invoice? Does that mean that the car has been built (scheduled for this week)? Or is it just one of those things that arrive when the building of the car is near???
