Charlie:
I have a friend that installed one himself. Part Number is 4W6Z-7603606AAA. It was $210.00 plus tax (Cost is $186)
If you want more data, email me at tbrd2001@netzero.com

Also, is that the cost for one visor? For those of us who have a 2002, the visors are vinyl and not covered with cloth as the 2003 and 2004 models are, so we would have to replace the passenger visor in addition to the driver's visor that houses the Homelink transmitter.

Have purchased new '04 windshield header which includes homelink. It is a perfect fit for my '02. Will report further on the wiring.
Also bought the V8 emblem from '03 Explorer which is more attractive the the T Bird emblem. Charlie

HomeLink

Charlie and George,

I'm interested in installing the HomeLink option on my '02 Bird. I test drove an '04 before buying my black bird, and the HomeLink was one option I really liked.

If you have any details on both visors, please email or PM me.

Thanks,
Jack / 2002 SR-71

Jack:
That email went out today to you. I hope it's enough info

Does the 2004 Bird have the Homelink built into the visor? The 2003 had it built into the inside windshield header molding.

The homelink from the '04 is in the windshield header. I had to pay $266 for mine. It has a middle clip that is not on the '02 header; I cut it off to fit. I soldered new wiring connectors from the existing wiring behind the old header then soldered new wiring connectors from the new header. Using a multimeter I figured what went to where. The new header includes a dome light plus two map lights. Everything works(three garage door openers plus lights) and the fit was good when I snapped the new header into place. I would only recommend this to folks handy with tools. Charlie
