Just put my hardtop on and used 1" one sided adhesive rubber tape , that is normally used as a gasket for camper tops on pickup trucks. I cut the tape in half...using 1/2" strip and placed it on the bottom of the hardtop that comes into contact with body. The tape is approx. 5/16 thick and the result was a comfortable fit with absolutly no creeking or other noise when driving.
The tape is inexpensive to buy and easy to handle, making it ideal to easily remove and discard in summer.
