Thunderbird Year

Have owned my 1957 for two years. Have added A/C and disc brakes, new tires and wheels. The car drives fine up until about 55 mph then it feels like the car wants to wander a bit.
I am thinking of adding a sway bar kit, front and rear; and/or rack and Pinion steering - any suggestins?

Hi, You said you added new tires, I assume they are radial tires - if not get radials or get use to the wandering. Your steering box may be a bit worn or needs to be adjusted. Front end alignment may be a bit off.

I put performance sway bars, front and rear on my 57. I can't say it did much for the wandering but they made a huge difference when cornering. Radials largely stopped the wandering.

What are you comparing it to ? Remember what you're driving, it won't track like a modern car. Sway bars will do nothing for wandering. Lastly make sure your tires aren't soft.

The 57 Tbird came with a front sway bar.
It should not wonder if you are running radial tires.
As recommended by Doug.
Have you had the alignment checked by a reputable shop?
64 years and many miles may have provided some hidden problems
