Hi all -

Wondering if anyone has had experience with extended warranty companies such as CARCHEX, ENDURANCE, etc.? The warranty programs sound pretty good but it don't necessarily trust the online reviews I have read although the company BBB ratings are A+.

Would like to hear member experiences either good or bad. Did the warranty company allow you to choose which repair shop and did they pay for the full repair after deductible?

Thanks

Howard

When we went to pick up our 2002 from the dealer a couple of weeks ago, he (calmly) announced that the previously promised extended warranty was not available. Did not have a lot of time to search, but was pleased with the professionalism and coverage at Warranty Direct, which had a respectable rating on line. Contact was Tom Lenardson at 866-714-6166 x 5625 if you are shopping. As I told Tom, it was nice dealing with him and I hoped to never have to talk to him again in the next five years! Good luck. I got a Ford extended warranty from a local dealer on my 2005 Thunderbird in December 2015. I figured if it broke down a Ford dealership was best place to get it repaired. I checked other extended warranties also. Ford's was about $200 higher than others for a 60 month warranty. But, I don't worry about where to take it, etc. check your favorite repair shop and be sure they accept any warranty you are looking to buy. With parts and mechanics got Thunderbirds becoming moe scarce each year, I thought the warranty was a good investment. Also, mine is transferable in case I see. Good luck.
