Tried to eject a CD today, never popped out & now the player is stuck. CD Error is on the display. I can't eject, load or play. Dealership can't look at it until Friday - I'm already sick of listening to the radio. Any suggestions? There was nothing in the manual & I don't really want to stick something into the player. Yes - it was a homemade cd.

Thanks!

I had this happen with a Toyota 4-Runner. I think it has nothing to do with the Thunderbird player, but is endemic to a multi-disc CD player. I had to have the player pulled by the dealer, and then shipped to a separate outfit for "repair." Actually, they just sent a new one back for installation. One reminder: be sure to tell them to recover and send back to you your CDs. I had a few back and forths with the dealer before I got mine back. Someone in the CD-Player repair shop must have been developing a CD collection.

I had a disc hang in the player last week when I tried to eject it. The door opened and the disc started moving then just quit. It wouldn't load or eject after that. Since the door stayed open, I grabbed the edge of the disc with some tweezers and pulled. I got it out far enough to grab with my fingers and remove it the rest of the way. The player has worked normally ever since. The disc that hung was a pre-recorded audio CD, not one with a paper label. If you can see the edge of the disc, you might want to try pulling (while the player is off).

I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM LAST MONTH. I TOOK ANOTHER CD AND GENTLY PUSHED IT BACK AND FORTH IN THE SLOT SEVERAL TIMES. THIS LOOSED THE LODGED CD AND IT EJECTED. THE STUCK CD WAS STORE BOUGHT WITH A RIDGE AROUND IT. HAPPY MOTORING! 02TBIRD

allberry,

I don't have you listed in the database, please see my thread "Database Info for the New Birds - post here Update 1", thanks.

We had a cd stick in my wife's Taurus 6 cd changer a couple of weeks ago. Turns out that it was the CD, which was one my daughter had put in the changer. It had, it seemed, been used as a Frisbee by my 15 year old and the edge of the CD was very rough. My wife was able to get it out by patiently repeatedly pushing the eject button while "massaging" the cd holder.

No problem since then...just have to watch what you put in!

I have a good friend who is in the Radio repair business as a Ford authorized dealer. He claims that the in dash 6 cd radio is on the way out as the problems are numerous and often. And you're right..they always send a replacement and then repair the one received and then ship that one to the next problem person.
One more reason to have XM radio!!
